My snowboard boot gave me a foot cramp?

ok, so i out on my boot, it is not new, i have worn it before, but on my right foot it felt like there was something digging into the arch of my foot, and i gave me a very painful cramp, the only thing i can think of that would cause this, is that i tied my my boots tighter than usual do you think that is what cause it?..............by the way i ride goofy, and the boots fit fine
